Overall, this week the atmosphere at NFT NYC has been one of excitement and celebration. Unfortunately, not everything has been smooth sailing. For examples of some things not going according to plan, look no further than the current feud between Goblintown and content creator Camany.

How did the drama between Kmoney and Goblintown NFT start?

Basically, it all started earlier this week when aspiring comedian and NFT content creator Kamini tweeted about Goblintown. In a thread of now-deleted tweets, Kmoney expressed anger at the Goblintown team for how he handled its performance slot at his NFT NYC party.

In short, Kmoney accused the Goblintown team of canceling her performance without telling her. Clearly, this did not sit well with the content creators, although their Twitter outburst was met with mixed reactions.

On the one hand, there were many Kmoney supporters who believed that Goblintown was wrong. On the other hand, many also criticized the way Kamani has addressed the situation. In particular, some took issue with the member of the Goblintown team docking with Kemney in charge of building the event.

Goblintown, the company behind Truth Labs, addressed the issue in its own tweet thread yesterday. It started by saying,

“Due to the uproar outside due to the event’s late start, we had to bump up the second half of the event for Steve Aoki to start the set. It is unfortunate that we don’t have time left for his performance. We understand why he is disappointed.” However, it condemned Comoney’s actions towards his crew and staff.

By this morning, the saga had taken a dark turn. Kamani tweeted that he has received two death threats since his tweet about Goblintown. He also claimed that someone leaked the address of his New York City hotel.

Overall, this is a very unfortunate incident. Whether or not people take issue with Kmoney’s initial tweets, it’s hard to picture the result as fair. Here it is hoped that both sides can settle things, and that the NFT space as a whole avoids such incidents in the future.
